Tracey Leverty, founder of Echelon Event Management, has immersed herself in events for the past twenty years. From the very first golf tournament she produced to starting her own company, Tracey has put her planning, organizational and time-management skills to the test in almost every event category. Drawing on two decades of event management experience, Tracey continues to engage, excite and excel for Echelon’s clients.
If it’s an event, Tracey has produced it, from sporting events, fundraising walks/runs, parades, conferences, public events, tradeshows, sales meetings and private events, to exclusive gatherings, health fairs, auctions, wine festivals, product launches, grand openings, anniversary celebrations, music festivals and galas.
Her memorable roles prior to founding Echelon are as follows:
As Director of Production at Play, a creative agency in downtown Richmond, Tracey headed up a team that produced some of the most creative event properties Play’s clients had ever experienced. Play provided Tracey with five years of exposure to the imaginative world that Play creates for its clients. The highly strategic and creative atmosphere at Play was a natural accompaniment to the nuts and bolts profession of event production.
As Director of Operations for the 1998 Goodwill Games, a Turner Sports property, Tracey oversaw the largest to the smallest of details, from hotels, meals, air and ground to transportation, volunteers, uniforms, athlete support services and official support services. The 1998 Goodwill Games were held in New York City and encompassed Manhattan, Staten Island and Long Island.
As Event Director for USA Canoe & Kayak, the National governing body for the Olympic sport of Canoe and Kayak, Tracey oversaw a two-year event calendar of details from venue selection to on-site production. She handled all local marketing and media coordination, and acted as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors, the events’ chairs and a broad network of sport officials.
As Venue Development Director for the Tour DuPont, America’s Premier Cycling Race, Tracey managed all venue development efforts, including: venue recruitment, local sponsorship sales support and guidance, coordination with city officials, coordination with police and departments of transportation, permitting for every jurisdiction covered during the eleven day race, marshal coordination and hospitality activities.
Tracey received a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Science in Sports Management from the University of Richmond.
Tracey is happily married to her husband, Taylor, who practices as a licensed clinical social worker, and has two children, Alex and Emma. Balance, energy and an undying need to “keep everything in harmony” keep her focused and ready for the next challenge in event production.
