Genworth CHILDREN’S Advantage Classic for Genworth Financial
Event Overview
Genworth Financial has developed wonderful relationships that have resulted in bringing world-class tennis to Richmond, while benefiting two of Richmond’s finest non-profit programs, the William Byrd Community House and its Lobs & Lessons program. The Genworth CHILDREN’S Advantage Classic featured Andre Agassi, Steffi Graf, Andy Roddick and Anna Kournikova, and consisted of athlete appearances at Genworth Financial’s headquarters, a kid’s clinic, press conferences and a hospitality/auction gathering preceding the tennis match. The marquis event was a tennis match played in front of a sold out crowd at the Siegel Center.
Echelon’s Role
- Managed Jefferson Hotel relationship with regard to athlete and entourage accommodations, in-room gifts, security, special requests and Banquet Event Orders coordination
- Researched and procured athlete special needs, including welcome gifts that reflected the athlete and their charitable focus
- Recommended and acquired client gift for hotel guests; coordinated with Altour rep to arrange room drop and pre-keyed check-in with hotel
- Managed pre-match hospitality event for 300 people, including food and beverage coordination, décor, rentals, setup/teardown, sound, lighting, silent/live auction management and hospitality/auction check-in process
- Managed shuttle transportation system for VIPs between the Jefferson Hotel and Siegel Center
- Miscellaneous amenities and services coordination including, floral in rooms and locker rooms, hairstylist and makeup artist, event photographer and wine distributor relationship for hospitality
