Event Overview
Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield created the perfect way to meet their commitment to raise 5MM for VCU/MCV Medical Center’s Massey Cancer Center. The company brought Serena Williams and Jennifer Capriati to Richmond for a sell-out exhibition tennis match on September 17, 2004. This match also featured Megan Shaughnessy and Alexandra Stevenson for pre-match tennis entertainment. Echelon was engaged to assist in all sponsor relations and execution, and to handle setup and awards responsibilities. Echelon also organized and executed a sold-out player luncheon held at The Westwood Club that raised 15K for Massey Cancer Center.
Echelon’s Role
- Served as traffic manager for all sponsor related activities throughout the sponsor solicitation period
- Developed and customized sponsor packages
- Sourced and executed branded items for luncheon and main event
- Developed and managed Player Luncheon, including promotion, ticket sales, catering, décor, rentals, sound, programming, security and presenting sponsor relations and execution
- Responsible for all sponsor-related on-site activity, as well as awards and player obligations
